Political processes in technological interventions: The case of country chickens in the northeast of Misiones
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this article we will study the impact of the implementation of a technology in a social organization in the Northeast of Misiones. This technology, the country chicken, was developed by INTA for the rural household production. The population of the organization is characterized by extreme poverty, the recent settlement, and the production of tobacco with family labor for sale to international companies. In this paper we study how, in this particular context, the organization takes possession of this technology for purposes beyond those intended in their design, which was the genetic improvement of chicken for consumption. The technology is appropriate as a way to access market, to achieve the visibility of the organization as a social actor, and thus becomes clear its political dimension.
