Abstract
The article addresses the enterprise Buonaventura Caviglia in Mercedes (Soriano department) at the head of an agro-industrial establishment. Entrepreneurship is studied in the context of the role played by European immigration, particularly Italian, in the development of agriculture and particularly the wine. This innovative project developed several objectives, favoring the production of wines for the region, mainly to Argentina, but on the eve of World War I could not resist the competition of wines from Mendoza who found a larger market: the national
