O uso e manejo dos recursos naturais na Amazônia Brasileira: a organização social e produtiva do PDS Nova Bonal

Abstract
The article analyzes the social organization and the use of natural resources by families benefited by the agrarian reform program in the Brazilian Amazon, considering aspects of extractive practices and community forest management. The object of analysis is the Sustainable Development Project (PDS), Nova Bonal, located in the state of Acre. The territorial organization and production in PDS Nova Bonal articulating guidelines targeted to meet the practices of conventional agriculture and agro-extractive have differences in other rural settlements created by the Brazilian government. The paper analyzes the possibilities of this type of project to provide socio-economic development of beneficiary families and, at the same time, better sustainability in the use of natural resources. Also are analyzed the legal and formal aspects that drive this model of land reform project in the use and management of natural resources in the Amazon.
