Abstract

In the present work we, propose the analysis of the impact of the opening of an overseas port on its adjacent region in the construction of a hinterland, and the building of a market of destination or foreland, reached by the vessels that arrived at it. The case is that of Puerto Quequén, a port on the Atlantic Ocean of the province of Buenos Aires constructed between 1911 and 1922 but that newly in 1929 was in operative conditions for the direct exporting on the outside. The used sources come from the records of the authority of port control, from the local administration of the port and official statistics
